2019 CALL FOR PAPERS

INTRODUCTION

Continuity & Resilience Today (CRT) – International Business Continuity Management Conference will be held in Toronto on May 29-30, 2019. CRT is the premier event addressing continuity management, providing a global perspective on current and emerging issues for Canadian practitioners. The 2019 program will include an outstanding roster of speakers providing an excellent opportunity for training and networking. Presentations will cover practice, research, and innovation in business continuity, crisis communications and risk management.

CRT 2019 will include 24 presentations over 2-days. The program will be of interest to practitioners, researchers and decision makers from sectors including energy/utilities, finance/insurance, government, manufacturing, technology, telecommunications, transportation and wholesale/retail.

Up to 2 (two) submissions per individual will be accepted. Submissions must include a Title, Abstract, Learning Objectives, Summary, Biography, Bio Picture, Speaking Experience and a Take Home Nugget. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:

Practical and collaborative, Continuity & Resilience Today provides business continuity/disaster recovery professionals an environment of shared lessons learned, best practices, takeaways, networking, and professional development to strengthen resilience.

PROGRAM GOALS

Submissions should align with one or more of the goals listed below. All sessions should offer value for conference delegates by providing content derived from real event experience, proven best practices, innovative approaches for nurturing resilience, or validated research. 2019 goals include, but are not limited to:

  • Building resilient organizations
  • Achieving optimum results while dealing with resource constraints
  • Demonstrating effective techniques for managing incidents and crises
  • Using collaboration as a strategy for improvement – this may include internal or external relationship-building, developing public–private partnerships
  • Addressing todays risk landscape, with particular focus on threats such as:
    • Adverse Weather
    • Cyber security
    • Data Protection
    • Social Media
    • Supply Chain
    • Terrorism
    • Unplanned Outages
    • and other prominent issues

TRENDS, LESSONS IDENTIFIED and recommended SOLUTIONS
ALL submissions must be practical in scope and MUST include case-based lessons learned, trends and solutions to problems for conference delegates

CONCURRENT SESSION FORMAT

Taking the above Goals into consideration, presentation submissions must fit into a 40-minute live presentation followed by 10 minutes of Q&A

WORKSHOPS
Taking the above Goals into consideration, workshop submissions must fit within at minimum 1.5-hours, to a maximum of 3.5-hours duration. Takeaways for attendees should include templates, processes or procedures that they can implement back at work.
