: : : this Q:-
: : : You are to create a disaster recovery contingency plan for the IT section of Mt Druitt College of TAFE, located in M Block.
: : : Your plan should include a detailed outline of a recovery plan for a variety of disasters including warehouse operations
: : : 1. Investigate and report on 2 insurance packages available to cover the equipment, furniture, personal effects, and structural aspects of M Block.
: : : 2. Create a comprehensive list outlining the possible causes of damage or loss including natural causes, accidental, sabotage and any other form of disaster relevant to M Block. (Discuss the possible damage of each incident, the severity of each incident, the likelihood of each incident, and the expected recovery time for each incident).
: : : 3. Identify and include the existing safety infrastructure and equipment in the building. Outline
: : : a. The current evacuation process including exits, the use of class attendance rolls in am emergency, and the location of evacuation areas for M Block residents.
: : : b. Fire prevention measures and equipment located in the building.
: : : c. You are to include diagrams of fire exits, sprinklers, fire extinguishers, evacuation paths within the building and evacuation areas.
: : : 4. Identify and report on the current methods of backup being implemented in the building with regards to information stored on servers. Outline the backup methods used, backup location, backup checking.
: : : 5. Investigate and report on security measures that can be put into to place to prevent the copying of proprietary information in the building. This should also include some form of notification if tampering has taken place.
: : : 6. Identify trauma councelling services provided in the local community for occupants of the building who may require it after a disaster.
: : : 7. Identification of the nature of your recovery plan and why it has been designed.
: : : 8. Examples of notification you would send out to appropriate staff members to inform them of the changes you have made.
: : : 9. Document the procedures you have implemented. Eg evacuation procedures, recovery plan, insurance details etc
: : :
: : : Create a contingency plan that incorporates the existing infrastructure. The plan should include details on recovering from disasters that cause physical loss, emotional loss, and data loss or theft. Discuss and address the possibility of having to find temporary class accommodation in the event of structural damage to the building, and the replacing of necessary training equipment in the shortest possible time frame.
: : : Given that different causes of damage could result in a similar outcome (Eg both fire and theft will result in equipment physical loss ) your plan should cover each outcome only.
: : : During the course of the term you have held interviews with staff members throughout the building in various roles. Use the information gathered in these sessions to determine a contingency plan that addresses each staff members needs. Your own experience as a student in the building can be used to address student needs in the event of a disaster.
: : : Individual student input into the project should be clearly defined in the report.
: : : To complete the report, you will be required to perform a sufficient blend of practical and theoretical components to cover both modules. You will therefore receive a mark based on the report alone.
