Maybe you could use the systems sitting in that site for Dev, pre-prod or test purpose.

Or maybe split the productions systems in both sites for faster recovery.

: It's obvious that a hot site's primary purpose is disaster recovery. But can anyone think of other uses for hot sites, other than for disaster recovery.

: It helps to know this when trying to get a hot site budget approved. Management doesn't want to hear that we are going to spend all this money on duplicating our datacenter to just have it "sitting there" until a disaster happens.
