NFPA 1600Posted by dave hochman (68.38.168.183) on March 22, 2006 at 16:22:26: Hello I am posting on behalf of Van Carlisle, CEO of FireKing Security Group, we are currently writing a bylined article for a trade publication on NFPA 1600: “Standard on Disaster/Emergency Management and Business Continuity Programs.” This standard is designed to be a description of the basic criteria for a comprehensive program that addresses disaster recovery, emergency management, and business continuity. The article is going to cover specifically how NFPA 1600 intersects with the need to protect vital records. In the past several years, 9/11 and some especially dramatic natural disasters such as the Hurricanes that struck the gulf coast region in 2005 and the wildfires out west the same year have illustrated the importance of Vital Records Protection (VRP) for US organizations. If are familiar with this topic and you are interested in being contributing your insights to the piece– attributable or otherwise – please email me asap at dhchmn@comcast.net
