When we had a power failure and needed to move to our back-up system, they were given the choice of overhead lights or plugs (but not both). Naturally, the first thing that management wanted was to be sure to power the servers. Unfortunately, there were a couple dozen of them and they were scattered throughout the complex which was the length of about 12 city blocks. Naturally, when the site was on one mainframe, this wasn't a significant issue. After this incident, all the facility servers were moved into the old mainframe computer room which had languished as a storage/junk room for some time. This allowed the electricians to rewire and ensure that the mainframe room would be on the back-up power thus keeping the servers running. Theresa
