Secure Telecommunications Infrastructure
Securing the Nation’s Telecom Infrastructure
Every day the national telecommunications infrastructure carriers billions of messages and delivers them to destinations worldwide. But what would happen if these critical national assets were compromised by a security breach? Maintaining security inside and outside the vast network of operations centers is a 24 x 7 job, and the complexity of the network adds to concerns about vulnerabilities. A recently published article by Andy Hilverda, vice president of Videx Inc., suggests that traditional locks on doors of telecom buildings are simply not enough protection, and advocates more advanced security measures, such as biometric authentication and sophisticated video surveillance systems.
