James E. Lukaszewski Receives The John W. Hill Award

James E. Lukaszewski, ABC, APR, Fellow PRSA, received The John W. Hill Award at the 23rd Annual Big Apple Awards for the New York Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).

Presenting the award was Hill and Knowlton Worldwide Healthcare Practice Leader, Daniel McIntyre who said, in part, “At a time when organizations desperately need a major rethinking about behavior, performance and reputation, Jim exemplifies what a public relations counselor can and should be. In a wonderfully varied career, Jim has performed “in the breach” as an advisor on issues and crises; he has acted as a coach to leaders in industry, government and NGOs; and he has devoted himself as a teacher to the next generation of professionals, through lecturing and writing. And I do mean writing: hundreds of articles; more than 2 dozen monographs; and 6 books – which have become classics in the field of communication.”

About the Award

Presented by Hill & Knowlton, The John W. Hill Award is the PRSA New York Chapter’s most prestigious individual award. Named for the founder of Hill & Knowlton, one of the world’s preeminent public relations firms, it is presented for leadership in the practice of public relations, demonstration of the highest standards of ethical conduct, and service to the public. Established in 1976 and conferred annually since 1977, the award is a reminder of Hill’s belief that experience, quality, integrity, and judgment are the key elements of public relations practice. Each year’s candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Leadership in the development of the practice of public relations other than through service to PRSA
  • Demonstration of the highest standards of ethical conduct
  • Service to the public beyond the scope of the nominee’s regular public relations duties.
