India: BCI and KPMG 2010 Continuity and Resilience Awards
The Business Continuity Institute (BCI) held the 2nd BCI Continuity & Resilience Awards in India in association with KPMG.
The Awards received an overwhelming response from the Industry. The Winners were announced at the Awards function held at The Taj Mahal Palace & Tower in Mumbai on September 30, 2010. The function was attended by senior executives from a diverse array of industries.
The BCI C&R Awards were first instituted in 2009 with the aim of recognizing significantly contributions of Business Continuity Management (‘BCM’). These Awards are gaining in stature each year and this year saw enthusiastic participation by various individuals and organizations, said a press release.
Nitin Khanapurkar, executive director, Advisory Services, KPMG in India and also one of the judges of the Awards said, “This year we have noticed a significant improvement in BCM maturity levels among Indian companies. More and more organizations are recognizing the need for BCM and even going in for certifications like BS 25999.
He further said that the demand for BCM professionals is picking up and organisations like BCI are playing a major role in promoting BCM in India. It was a tough yet pleasant task of selecting the winners of the various Awards.
