It’s human nature. It is only when some type of disaster or emergency occurs that people look at how prepared they are to endure it and respond to it. Many times, that’s too late.
The same appears to hold true for corporations, which have had all kinds of challenges thrown at them this year, the latest of which was the need for pandemic planning as a result of the H1N1 virus.
“When there is a disaster, then people start realizing,” says Bob Klay, president of Klay Information Management Consulting Ltd.
