Manufacturing hit hardest by supply chain failure according to Business Continuity Institute report


Research by the Business Continuity Institute and supported by Zurich Insurance reveals that manufacturing is being hardest hit by supply chain failure. Manufacturers have reported a 58% increase in disruption to their supply chains over the last 12 months; this compares to 35% across all industry sectors. The report on the research entitled “Supply Chain Resilience” surveyed 201 organizations across all sectors, industries and locations where they had operations.

CSB Releases New Safety Video, “Inferno: Dust Explosion at Imperial Sugar”

The U.S. Chemical Safety Board (CSB) has released a new nine-minute safety video on the combustible dust explosion at the Imperial Sugar refinery in Port Wentworth, Georgia, which claimed the lives of 14 workers, injured 36, and caused extensive property damage on February 7, 2008.

Exactly one year ago, Bernard L. Madoff’s two sons turned him in for running the biggest Ponzi scheme ever. Now they are trying to move on. But that is a nightmare for most people with the word “Madoff” on their résumé.

Out of work since federal agents arrested their father, Andrew and Mark Madoff have been wrestling with what to do next, according to people who have spoken with them or other Madoff family members.

Andrew Madoff, son of Bernard Madoff, is considering starting a disaster recovery firm. Disaster being his area of expertise, one supposes.
